Captain America Cereal Ice Cream Cake

Captain America Civil War just came out on DVD and blue-ray and the new season of Agents of Shield starts up soon. It's a great time to be a Marvel fan. It was also the perfect time to make something Captain America.
I saw a video on how to do this with lucky charms. When I saw the Captain America cereal I knew I had to make this cake for the blog. This is another really sweet treat which seems to be a trend on this blog.

What You Will Need
1.5-2 cups of cereal
1.5 cup of white chocolate chips (a 12 ounce bag)
0.5 ounces of butter
A flat pan
Parchment paper
2.25-3.25 cups of marshmallows
2.5-3.5 cups of cereal
1.5 ounces of butter
Ice Cream
Nonstick Spray
Circle pan

Step One
Lay out your parchment paper and melt your white chocolates. Combine the butter and chocolate into a bowl or pan depending on your method.  You can microwave it in 30 second increments or you can use the double broiler method if you don't have a microwave. This chocolate hardens really quickly so make sure everything is ready before you melt it.

Step Two
Pour the chocolate on the parchment paper and spread it out. Pour the 1 1/2-2 cups of cereal on this and pat into the chocolate. Put on your flat pan and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes.

Step Three
Combine your marshmallows and the 1.5 ounces of butter and heat up the marshmallows to make them puff up.

Step Five
Pour in the cereal with the marshmallows. Stir them together until they are well combined.

Step Five
Spray your pan with nonstick spray. Pour in the marshmallow and cereal mixture and pat it it down to fill the bottom of the pan.

Step Six
Add a couple of scoops of ice cream on top of that. Then spread out the scoops of ice cream.

Step Seven
Take your bark out of the freezer and break it up. Now add the pieces of the bark to the top. Put it in the freezer unit you're ready to serve it.

Are you guys Team Cap or Team Iron Man? I'm really curious.

American Horror Story Freak Show Bloody Popcorn

Fall is coming up soon and my favorite holiday, Halloween, is in the fall. With a new season of American Horror Story starting soon I thought it was the perfect time to do something horror related. My husband and I got American Horror Story: Freak Show to watch which gave me this idea.
In 2014 at Comic-Con bloody popcorn was given out to promote Freak Show. So I decided to make my own version It really is delicious but it's also very sweet.

What You Will Need
10 cups of air popped popcorn  (This can be store bought or homemade)
10 0z bag of red candy melts
A bowl with a lid
A spoon
A 12×18 pan
Parchment paper

Step One
Melt your candy melts. There are a couple of different ways to do this.
1. Pour them in a microwave safe bowl. Then microwave for one minute. Then take them out and stir them. Put them back in the microwave for 30 seconds. Take it out and stir. Repeat until it can be poured over the popcorn.
2. For this method you'll need two pans, one bigger one smaller. Fill the bigger pan full of water. Pour the candy melts in the smaller pan. Get the water boiling and then set the smaller one so it's floating in the water. Stir the candy melts

Step Two
Once your candy melts have melted pour them over your popcorn. You'll want to alternate between shaking and stirring to make sure all of the popcorn is covered.

Step Three
Lay parchment paper on the bottom of the pan. Spread the popcorn over the bottom of the pan.

Step Four
You're going to want to leave the popcorn on the counter so the candy can set. DO NOT put it in the fridge. This will make the popcorn soggy.

I hope you guys like this tutorial! If you make it feel free to share it here, over on the Facebook fanpage, or if you put it on Instagram use #thegeekyartist so I can see it.

The Legend of Zelda Potion Bottles Jewelry

A wild dork appears

Hello everyone! I am finally making something from a video game. Not only that but it's my personal favorite series The Legend of Zelda.
When I found these bottles I was actually looking for something completely different. But I saw them and thought of all of the things that I could do with them and had to bring them home with me.

What You Will Need
Glass Bottles (This is not sponsored these are just the ones I bought)
Seed Beads
Screw Eyes
Jump Rings (2 for the earrings and 3 for the necklace)
Lobster Clasp
Earring Hooks

Step One
Put the screw eyes into the cork part of the bottle.

Step Two
Take the corks off the bottles and fill them with seed beads. However make sure you can put the cork back on properly.

Step Three
Attach the lobster clasp to one end of your chain with a jump ring. Put a jump ring on the other end of the chain.

Step Four
Use jump rings to attach the smaller bottles to tbe earring hooks. Then attach the bigger bottle to the chain.

Step Five
Take off the corks and add a little bit of superglue to the edge near the bottom. Now place it back in the bottle so that it won't fall off when you wear it.
