Triforce Cupcakes

This recipe is a part of #ZeldaMonth. Over at Fandom Foodies there is a monthly cooking theme. This month is based around The Legend of Zelda and is being hosted over at Level 1 Chef. You can check out the recipes here.
I really wanted to make something triforce related for this month because the triforce is such a big part of most Zelda games. So triforce cupcakes were made.

What You Will Need
Cake Mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup of oil
1 and 1/4 cup of water
Icing (I used black)
Icing Spatula
Fondant
Yellow dye
Cupcake pan
Cupcake liners
Triangle cookie cutter

Step One
Preheat oven to 350F. Mix your cake mix, water, butter, and eggs. Put your liners in the pan and pour batter into the liners. Bake for minutes. Let cool.

Step Two
Dye your fondant yellow. Roll it out then cut out a triangle with your cookie cutter.

Step Three
To make it a triforce cut out an upside down triangle in the center to make three separate small triangles.

Step Four
Once your cupcakes are cool you can frost the cupcakes. On top of the cupcake lay out your three triangles to make a triforce.

Alola Muk Pudding

I'm sorry for doing 2 Pokemon posts in one week. My schedule has been crazy and messed up this week. The good news is you guys will probably get a new post in a few days.

This post was inspired by a bunch of Alola Muk recipes over at Jammy Cooks. These recipes are so creative, colorful, and fun.
The great thing about this pudding is it is a really simple thing to make. Also when you work on your layers they don't have to be perfect because Muk's stripes aren't perfect. I used gel food dyes because they are so bright and vibrant but you could probably use regular food coloring.

What You Will Need
One box of 3 56 pudding  (you want a white pudding I personally used white chocolate but vanilla works too)
2 cups of milk
Gel Food dyes (teal, green, red, purple, blue, pink, and yellow)
4 bowls
Sandwich Bags
Clear Plastic Cup

Step One
Combine you milk and pudding packet into a bowl. Stir until it's thick.

Step Two
Separate the pudding into for separate bowls to dye. The biggest thing when dying the pudding is to keep adding and mixing colors until your happy with the colors.

For the blue I added a few drops of purple with a lot of blue.

For the greenish color I added a lot of teal with a few drops of green and a small drop of red to darken it up.

The pink is just a few drops of the pink dye.

The yellow is just a little yellow dye.

I don't know what happened to the stirred pudding picture. Sorry!

Step Three
Add each of the puddings into a sandwich bag and seal up the top. Then snip one of the corners.

Step Four
Layer them in the cup to look like Muk.
Mine went: Yellow
Blue
Green
Blue
Pink
Blue
Yellow
Blue

An alternative is to just use purples to make a normal Muk. The dark purple is just a little blue mixed in with a lot of purple. The light purple is just a few drops of purple dye.

I hope you guys enjoy! If you make these feel free to share here, on Facebookon tumblr, or use #thegeekyartist on instagram.

Popcorn Pokeballs

At the beginning of November one of my local movie theaters was showing the first Pokemon movie. It was really fun and when I was younger I didn't get to see it in theaters so I finally got to do something I wanted to do back in the day.

Me going to see the movie

I decided I wanted to do something relating to popcorn because that's what I think of when I think of a movie theater. Hence these popcorn pokeballs. These are so easy and fun. They would be perfect for a pokemon themed party.

What You Will Need
12 cups of popcorn (I use air popped)
2 ten oz bags of marshmallows
2 three tablespoons of butter
Red food gel
Black and white fondant
Parchment paper
Pan
Sauce pan
Rolling pin
Mixing bowl

Step One
Lay parchment paper on your pan to lay your popcorn balls on.Separate 6 cups of your popcorn into a bowl. This will be the bottom of our balls.

Step Two
Turn your burner on to a low medium heat. Melt your butter in the sauce pan. Once it is completely melted you can add your marshmallows.

Step Three
When your marshmallows are melted pour your mixture over your popcorn. Mix until it is well combined. Grease your hands and roll the popcorn into balls.

Step Four
Repeat steps 1-3 except on step 2 dye your marshmallow and butter mixture red.

Step Five
Cut your balls in half. then take a white half and a red half and stick them together.

Step Six
Roll out the black fondant.Ten cut long strips out. Wrap around the popcorn balls.

Step Seven
Roll your black and white fondant into balls. Make sure your white one is smaller then your black one. Flaten your black fondant into a circle. Put your white ball on top of that and press flat. Then put it on the popcorn ball.

Also I'm sorry these are a week late. There has been a lot going on. Also with holidays coming up my schedule is going to be a bit off. Sorry!
